Somewhere between the Hudson & the Stars
I. Invocation
I am fifty-one years on this earth, born under the Sun Sign of Virgo, with a Taurus Moon, and Cancer Rising. In Vedic Astrology, I was born under Krittika Nakshatra. I Identify as a Transgender Woman and Third Gender, my pronouns are she/her, and my heart is a small temple with many altars.
I make my home in the quiet hills of upstate New York, somewhere between Albany and the great pulse of the city. I am single, devoted to my studies and spiritual practice, and most evenings I'm just watching TV with my cute little dog snuggled up next to me.

II. Devotions
And music, always, threaded through them all.
Classically trained, still a student of every silence between the notes. The bow draws prayer as easily as melody.

I have lived in several countries, and a particular thread of my heart is wound through Central and South Asia — the poets, the deserts, the shrines, the music of strangers who became kin.
I remain a perpetual student. There is always another language to mispronounce, another tradition to sit beside in silence, another book to keep open on the windowsill until the rain stops.

"The road is home; the home is also road."
V. Companions & Causes
The animal world holds my heart in particular. When my body permits — and it does not always — I give my hands to volunteer work, because a life of study without service is only half a song.

"Be a lamp, or a lifeboat, or a ladder.
Help someone's soul heal. Walk out of your house like a shepherd."
